The VCC (Vertical Compact Centre) was developed as a small machining centre with a moving column specially for production in workshops. Contrary to the shuttle machine (machining at several places), the VCC is mainly used for manufacturing individual pieces and small lots. This flexible, versatile and user-friendly machine whose dimensions have been optimized in terms of space requirement and costs is ideal for cost-effective production of standard small and medium-sized workpieces.
Short chip-to-chip times as well as tool loading without interruption of the machining operation are possible, thanks to the stationary tool changer located on the side of the machine.
The DBZ (double place machining centre) is a small multi-place machine with two separate working places. Shuttle operation between the two working places allows you to set up and load one working place while a workpiece is being machined on the second one. The dimensions of this machine were also designed for low-cost production of standard small and medium-sized workpieces.
The tool changer is located in the centre where it can be accessed from both working places. Therefore, tools can be loaded without interrupting the machining operation.
The VSC (Vertical Rigid Bed Centre), designed as a moving column centre with vertical spindle as well as fixed machine table, is an ideal machine for vertical machining of various kinds of parts. If equipped with a mounted NC rotary table and if necessary with a counter bearing, it can also be used for multi-side machining.
X-traverse ranges of 1760 to 12000 mm enables you both, complete and flexible using of the VSC as a single place machine in long bed operation mode, as well as in parallel with the main machining process as a double place machine in pendulum operation mode. Optionally the working areas can also be defined asymmetrically.
The 2-axis tilting head is the key component of the UPFZ machine series. The head works in practically any position and so offers the greatest possible usability in your production plant. Once in place, the UPFZ also machines particularly large and complex workpieces all the way round – horizontally, vertically and even diagonally.

The AXA gantry machining centre PFZ is the specialist for particularly large and solid workpieces that need to be machined with a vertically set main spindle. Powerful, yet extremely precise – that is how the PFZ completes such difficult tasks. Its excellent reliability and efficiency speak for itself alongside its flexibility and adaptability. The rigid construction of the PFZ means that it is very tough and robust. The implementation of angular heads enables machining on the side surfaces.
The portal machining centre VPC-U displays its entire strength in 5-side machining of workpieces with its tilting spindle and the rotary table integrated into machine bed. The spindle swivels around the Y-axis while the NC-rotary table turns the workpiece into the right position in line with the specifications. The complete machine table consists of a combination of fixed tables and rotary table that is set higher than the fixed tables for the horizontal machining. The table level can optionally be levelled out by elevated fixed tables or attached tables.
Enough is just not enough. The VPC 2800-U unites the advantages of the compact built VPC range with the working area proportions of the spacious portal machining centres PFZ/UPFZ from AXA. Its travel of 2940 x 1100 mm makes this multitalent stand out above the competition for large gantry machines. The compact construction integrates all the essential components in very confined space.
5-sides and 5-axes machining of large cubic workpieces is a simple task for the VPC 2800-U: The combination of a stepless interpolating 1-axis tilting head with a rotary table integrated into the frame makes this task simplicity itself.
The VPC with its vertical spindle is particularly designed for machining large plate-shaped workpieces. The implementation of angular heads also simply enables lateral machining. The clever layout provides for excellent workspace use. The portal drives the spindle above a real gantry drive in the Y-axis. The machine footprint is thus hardly larger than the optimally arranged working area.
